My Current "Must Reads"

Looking for a good book? I have found each of these books to be highly engaging and very thought provoking. Word of warning, if you begin reading them, you may not be able to put them down!

The Help by Kathryn Stockett:

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini:

If you missed this book, The Kite Runner, also by Khaled Hosseini, is very good, as well:

This book was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed it! The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Anne Shaffer & Annie Barrows:
*Sorry this cover is blurry~I tried 2 different images & couldn't get a clear pic)*

I am getting ready to read two new books. I love the author Malcolm Gladwell & found his books Blink & The Tipping Point to be very intriguing. I am looking forward to reading his new book, What the Dog Saw. Also, I have read several of Jodi Picoult's books & will soon be reading House Rules. I will let you know what I think of these two reads. Happy reading. If you have read any of these, let me know what you thought of the books. What reads are in your beach bag?

  1. All great reads!! I just finished The Help..read it on the Kindle Ap. on my iphone...it was such a good read...and made me look like I was addicted to my phone. LOL. Both Hosseini reads were thought-provoking, and not light. The Guernsey... was another favorite. Captured a great perspective on that time period, and the style of writing was neat too.
I need some new reads. I do paperback book swap..it's been a great way to trade off some of my books and try new ones out. Only problem is that the bestsellers can be hard to get a hold of....takes a long time.
    Have a great day!

  2. A Thousand Splendid Suns was quite possibly the best book I've EVER read!!! I almost want to read it again now that it's been a couple of years for me. I'm not normally into novels, but this one I DEVOURED!
Have you read "The Bookseller of Kabul"? Another great one!

I love Jodi Piccoult, too, so am anxious to read your review of House Rules.

  8. Returning your visit to Becolorful via Our Suburban Cottage. I was looking for your house post. I didn't find that but I did start perusing your blog. What a fun place to visit. I like real life stuff. The image of the coffee cup is splendid and so easy to relate to. I saw your book list and three of those are on my to read list too. I did just finish The Help and loved it. I found myself casting people in those roles as I read. It would make a great movie too.
