I also appreciate all of your nice comments about the break in of my SUV. The insurance company was good to us and even though we won't be able to recuperate everything that was stolen, I am very thankful for our insurance.
We had a fantastic Christmas. Lots of love & great memories.
A tidbit of things that we have been up to over break:
spending time with friends
skyping with family (love, love Skype)
skiing & more skiing
hanging out at the ski lodge
getting over a cold (me & Ana)
snowmobiling around our yard on our vintage snowmobile
putting together a puzzle of Portofino, Italy
movie time as a family at home
using my point & shoot camera to get a few photos
cooking & cleaning
helping kids with electronic gifts
I am going to start back at yoga in the New Year to get in shape for this new sport of mine! This was a huge surprise from my sweet husband, a standup paddleboard (all the way from Cali!):
Yes, I am counting down the days until I can use this gorgeous board all around the lake!! I fell in love with the sport while in the Florida Keys on spring break. It is such an easy sport, just balance & paddle.
Here is what I could use from you! I need to know if you have a camera (digital SLR: single lens reflex) that you love! If you have a camera or a lens that you love, please leave me a comment with the make & model. I am in research & save mode. I want to pick a camera that is right for me!
Also, if you would say a pray for 2 of my friends. One is dealing with a very recent loss of a child, while the other friend is having difficulties with housing. These are wonderful, wonderful women who have helped so many people. Please pray for them. It will make a difference!
I am looking forward to blogging with you in the New Year. We are trying stuffed cabbage rolls on New Year's Day this year! I am so excited. Would love to know what you are doing on New Year's Day?!!
hugs,
Cathy M.
Gosh, it seems like there's been so much loss I've heard about in the last while. So sad. I'll definitely pray for the both of them.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad things are getting worked out with your break in. That sucks so bad. So your camera will be replaced? That's fabulous.
I think I need to look up this standup paddleboard sport-- it looks sooo cool. Too cool for me. :)
Okay so the camera I love. I do love the camera I have now, but I also loved the camera I had before I beat it into the ground. I had the Canon 20D-- I believe Canon is now on the 60D if I am not mistaken. My favorite lens is the 50mm, 1.4f. It stays on my camera 95% of the time. :)
Love ya Cathy!
Hi Cathy! I am so glad that you had a wonderful Christmas! I will definitely send out prayers for your friends, so very sad.
ReplyDeleteYou SUP is beautiful!!! I love it! I have wanted one for a while and maybe someday will get one. I would love to use one at Glen Lake! I can't wait to see how much fun you have with it.
Happy New Year!
Oh I have a Canon PowersShot SX120 IS I really like it. You can point and shoot or play around with it. I am still learning lots about photography though. :)
I will keep these women in prayer. Sounds like you have had a wonderful holiday. Happy new year to you. I look forward to reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Valerie
Prayers all around for your friends. I count my blessings daily, even when things seem terrible.
ReplyDeleteI'm SO sorry about your car break-in! It's an awful feeling, isn't it? Love your new paddle board! It looks like so much fun and a great workout! Cathy, have a wonderful day and a very
happy and healthy New Year!! Cheers!
Your new SUP rocks, Cathy! So exciting! I wish we were closer so we could do it together. There is a woman who owns a water sports store here and in the warmer months she does "Paddle Puff" for women on Wed evenings. She takes the group out for a good paddle and then you end up at the outdoor restaurant/bar at the marina. I wish you could join us!
ReplyDeletePrayers for your friends. I'm sorry to hear about their losses.
Happy New Year,
Kim
Glad your Christmas was good Cathy!
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family a wonderful New Year!!
ReplyDeleteOh my heart grieves for your friends. Especially the loss of a child. There are no words.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry, hubby and I are just sitting down with a movie and I did not do your card hook up - just remembered. I don't think he'll be to thrilled if I take the time to do it now!
I hope you find your New Year very blessed indeed.

ReplyDeleteHi Cathy! Thank you for such nice comments, and thanks for stopping by my blog! That is such a bummer about your camera. I don't know what I would do. My hubby's truck got broken into about 3 years ago and they took the TV, Playstation, CD player, everything. They also broke into my car and stole the kid's DVD players and scattered my Cd's all over the street. I started with crying, and then feeling raped, and then just mad. I can't believe what some people do these days. Unbelievable. I hope you get a new camera soon! Mine is a Nikon D60, I don't know if they make them anymore but comparable I think is the Nikon D3100. My fav lens at the moment is the 35 mm.
